Hipospadia perineal em gato: relato de caso.

Abstract

Hypospadias is a congenital anomaly of the external genital organ, which consists of the abnormal opening of the penile urethra. The opening, or openings of the urethra, can be anywhere along the axis of the penis. It can open to the scrotum or perineum and can end in any region, from the peritoneum to the tip of the penis, ventrally and caudally to the normal opening of the glans penile. In this context, the present report aims to describe the occurrence of a rare case of perineal hypospadias in a cat seen at the Veterinary Hospital of the Federal University of Paraíba, Campus II, Areia-PB, addressing its clinical and therapeutic aspects. The guardian reported that, when rescuing the animal, she noticed that it did not have a penis or vulva, and complained of urinary incontinence. In addition, the animal had lesions in the pelvic region. On physical examination, perineal hypospadias was diagnosed, and perineal urethrostomy was performed as treatment to prevent further inflammation and improve the quality of life of this patient.
