O Irã sob o governo do Aiatolá Khomeini (1979-1989): a relação entre o Islã e a política

Abstract

This research paper presents the way in which is consolidated in Iran the relationship between shii’s Islam and their politics (domestics or international) after the Iranian Revolution of 1979. A look through the country’s history reveals that Reza Pahlavi Shah’s regime was responsible for the course to the Revolution that paved his own fall. It becomes evident in his regime the White Revolution and the proximity with the United States. Under Ayatollah Khomeini’s guidance, after the Revolution, a new government structure attached to Islam is established. Yet, this paper presents the way in which occurs the consolidation of such government and its impacts in regional and international scope. Given the aspects analyzed, the discussion is based in theoretical concepts from International Relations used by analysts in the search for definitions to the relationship between Muslim religion and politics from the Islamic Revolution.
