Corpos trans nos esportes de lutas : uma análise do posicionamento de técnicos e atletas

Abstract

Gender issues and the presence of trans people in the sports arena have effectively fostered, not only in the university context, but in different sectors of society, several discussions with divergent opinions. Non-identification with biological sex, and the search to find themselves, aesthetically, in their gender identity are the main characteristics of transsexual people. Being considered a practice of contact, violence and physical strength, fighting sports have, in their participation, a greater resistance to the presence of trans athletes in their context. In this perspective, considering the increasingly effective possibility of the presence of trans people in professional struggles, and in an attempt to insert this public in the construction of a more democratic sport, this study seeks to analyze the perception of athletes and coaches regarding participation of trans athletes in these sports. This research is characterized as qualitative and descriptive. Six (06) social agents participated in the study in distinct and integrated areas, cis and trans, in the field focused on the sport of fights. The people interviewed were subjected to a semi-structured interview that was analyzed based on elements of the discourse analysis proposed by Foucault. The result of this study was to understand, through the discourse of these professionals, and current examples, the participation of the trans person in the struggles and their specificities, as well as the impact of this presence for the social subjects of this sport.
