BREVE DEBATE SOBRE A ATUAÇÃO DE ASSISTENTES SOCIAIS NA SAÚDE À LUZ DAS EXPERIÊNCIAS VIVENCIADAS EM UM HOSPITAL ESCOLA

Abstract

The present Course Completion Work (TCC) entitled “Brief Debate on the Work of Social Workers in Health in the light of Experiences Lived in a Teaching Hospital” was the result of the supervised internship experience I in Social Work, at the Obstetric Clinic of the University Hospital. Laur a Wanderley. The objective of the work consisted of the analysis of the performance of Social Work, with a brief review of the first welfare practices to the present day and in the face of the neoconservative offensive that has been affecting the professio n. It also proposed to reflect on the effectiveness of meeting the needs of users who seek health services and, in particular, from the role of the social worker with the users assisted at the HULW obstetric clinic. To meet the objectives, the methodology initially used was bibliographic research using texts by authors such as Iamamoto, Netto, Guerra, Lima. In addition to the bibliographic research, individual perceptions obtained during the first period of the supervised internship were also used, carried out in person. It was through the experience of the internship that the need to assess whether the actions of the Social Service in this area has overcome a welfare, emergency and bureaucratic perspective was generated. It was observed that neoconservatism has a direct impact on the performance of professionals and concrete difficulties in guaranteeing the provision of social assistance and health services as the Brazilian State increasingly reduces funding for public policies in the country.
