Abstract

Investigation that shows results about how is the organization of information in the Institutional Portal of the Virtual Health Library (VHL) of the Oswaldo Cruz Foundation (FIOCRUZ) in the light of the information architecture (IA), with emphasis on the system of organization and the your shed Difficulties Perspective. Fundaments this research presenting a brief history of FIOCRUZ, focusing on their scientific production until the launch of the institutional portal in 2007, as well as the structuring of websites from the IA in this case, focusing on the organization system. The objective is to investigate the VHL FIOCRUZ the light of IA. It adopts as methodological approach, applied research and literature, collection approaches of quantitative and qualitative data, conducted in May and June of this year, in addition to the field of study made by the VHL FIOCRUZ. Results in identification of a portal (central website) and 12 VL themes, VHL FIOCRUZ has a portal interface, the realization that the environment had its inception focused on the user who has notions about health knowledge, the VL do not have a kind of standard interface. Also triggers the following events in the Difficulties Perspective, the IA organization system: there are not the Ambiguity and Heterogeneity difficulties while identified an adversity Aesthetics and especially problems with the Differences in Perspectives and the Internal Policies. It concludes that the problems identified are in line with the way each VL organizes information and structure their environment, valuing the content according to their peculiarities (thematic) while not adopt the institutional portal as a website model. It is believes that so users feel lost front of different designs, and can to interfere negatively in order to navigate the website and get what you want.
