Abstract

It presents the experience report of the activities carried out during the non- compulsory internship at the Sectorial archive belonging to the Human Sciences Arts and Letters Center of the Federal University of Paraiba, from 2010 to 2014. It shows the indispensable contribution of the trainees in the institutions, which give Necessary assistance for the best development in the work of the archivist and how much the presence of this professional is essential in the daily, for supervision and orientation of the internship. It highlights the importance of the University Archives for the construction of the institution's memory and document management to ensure a quality organizational system and ensure the agility and effectiveness in information retrieval. It is a descriptive research, because it presents the activities developed in the file studied. It is concluded that the practice has great relevance in the qualification of any professional, but for this, it is necessary to engage on the part of the student and recognition of its value by the archivist and the institution.
