Desenhos metodológicos das pesquisas em Ciência da Informação no Nordeste: uma análise das dissertações e teses defendidas nos PPGCIs do NE no período de 2008-2018

Abstract

Analyze how methodological strategies used in the dissertations and theses defended in the Graduate Programs in Information Science in the Northeast Region. Specifically, try to categorize, by line of research and thematic area, as dissertations and classifications, as to the types of approach used, as sources of information and the intended objectives. In this way, the present research can be used as descriptive, in terms of objectives, qualifying, without respecting the approach and documentation, regarding the sources of information that were used. The research corpus comprised 311 works (dissertations and theses), defended in the period from 2008 to 2018. It was used in the categorization technique, present in the content analysis method. From the data analysis, it was possible to verify a predominance of researches that fall under the thematic subarea of Information Management (21%) and Representation and Organization of Information (18%). It does not refer to the classification of these surveys, they are, in the majority (51%), qualitative in nature, regarding the approach to reality, descriptive (95%), it does not refer to the objectives they intend to achieve and documents (65%), as to the information sources.
