Kakolum, escola secundária de Kafountine, anteprojeto arquitetônico de uma escola para adolescentes da aldeia de Kafountine em Senegal

Abstract

The present paper proposes an architectural project for a school for students in the village of Kafoutine, Senegal, targeting the age group between 12 and 17 years old, implementing strategies of bioclimatic and vernacular architecture, using local materials. This paper began with the announcement of an international competition held by Archstorming (2021) and the NGO Kakolum. Therefore, initially it will be presented the theoretical and project references that served as the basis for the proposal, which include African architecture, bioclimatic architecture and architecture with shore, also, the works of Francis Keré, who is a reference in african architecture. Subsequently, some pre-project considerations are presented, such as the study of the local environmental conditions, such as sunlight and ventilation, and other important information about the community where the school will be located. Overall, the project that sought to meet the educational demand of the region is presented, translating into a proposal that can be implemented by the population itself, meeting the demands of the competitionand reflecting the attributes of the place.
