O avanço na legislação sobre a inclusão de pessoa s surdas na educação

Abstract

In this article, we analyze the main national and international laws that, over time, have contributed to advancing the inclusion of people with disabilities, and more specifically, the deaf in the educational context. The research highlights some of the international treaties, agreements and conventions and the decisive role that the Federal Constitution of 1988 played in this journey towards inclusion. To achieve the general objective, which is to analyze national and international legislation that aims to include people with disabilities, bibliographic research based on several authors related to the topic, such as Mazzota (2011), Monteiro (2009), Orrú (2017), Páez (2001), among others, as well as the main legal documents on the subject. It appears that an inclusive education is possible, as long as there is a commitment from managers in the implementation of public policies aimed at this segment. On the other hand, it is also observed that the struggles do not end with the implementation of these normative instruments, considering that a simple change of government can result in a great threat to the rights already conquered, as is the (dis)case in the context of current education.
