EDUCAÇÃO POPULAR NA PÓS GRADUAÇÃO DE ALAGOAS: um estudo nas áreas de Serviço Social e Educação (1980-2020)

Abstract

This course conclusion work was developed from the experience as a researcher of scientific initiation of the research project: POPULAR EDUCATION IN BRAZILIAN GRADUATE STUDIES: a study of the areas of Social Work and Education (2000-2010). The study proposal presents the results of a research composed of two stages: use of the data that were collected in the scientific initiation report of the 2013_2014 term and survey of dissertations and theses in the areas of Education and Social Work from 2011 to 2020. The general objective was to take stock of the academic productions that bring popular education as a theme in strictu sensu post-graduations in public universities in the state of Alagoas, in the areas of Education and Social Work, that is, we conducted a "state of the art" study. As specific objectives: to know the dominant and emerging themes and approaches that articulate with popular education; to identify and analyze the theoretical framework, as well as the profile of the students who assume such a theme; to analyze popular education as the central object of study or the secondary theme; and if the production that has this theme has been reducing or increasing, in the postgraduations in Education and Social Work. Methodologically, our work is of the exploratory and bibliographic type, whose approach is qualitative, based on the theoretical-critical framework of historical-dialectical materialism. In the data collection phase, for the years 2011 to 2020, we used the portal of the Brazilian Digital Library of Theses and Dissertations (http://bdtd.ibict.br), as well as virtual libraries, institutional repositories and websites of the graduate programs of the public universities of the state in question. The results referring to the years 1980 to 2010, which serve as a source of data for this research, was the final report of scientific initiation that was executed in the 2013_2014 term by the Pibic/Cnpq scholarship holder Daniela Ninfa de Lima Sousa. 04 (four) public institutions of higher education were identified and investigated. When we cross the survey of Sousa (2014) to our survey, which was from 2011 to 2020, we have a quantitative of 12 productions in the state of Alagoas, all in the area of Education. The Federal University of Alagoas - UFAL stands out, because it was the locus of research, since it was the only one in the state that had graduate programs in Education and Social Work. The research revealed that Popular Education is little studied in the area of Education and was not addressed by Social Work, as we did not locate any master's dissertation, since the doctorate in the Graduate Program in Social Work - PPGSS only began in 2017. The productions found showed that in the area of Education the theme is present as a central theme in only one work, and as a secondary theme in the works related to the themes of Education/Literacy of Youth and Adults, Teacher Training for EJA, Curriculum for EJA, dialoguing, still, with Democratic Participation, among others.
