Os impactos do atendimento educacional no ambiente hospitalar para crianças e adolescentes em situação de adoecimento

Abstract

The hospitalization of children and adolescents results in their removal from daily activities, including spending time with family, the school context and society in general. Furthermore, hospitalization often involves painful experiences and suffering, directly impacting the emotional state and self-esteem of these individuals, which can harm their quality of life and their teaching and learning process. Hospital Pedagogy emerges as an approach designed to rescue the education of hospitalized students and reduce negative impacts through playful teaching activities that provide moments of joy. The general objective of this work is to discuss how Hospital Pedagogy plays a crucial role in recovering the health of children and adolescents who have become ill. The specific objectives include characterizing the role of the pedagogue in the hospital environment, investigating how hospital pedagogy can contribute to the education of these students and a literature review covering publications from the last five years, from 2018 to 2022. The research carried out is qualitative and consists of a bibliographic review that involved the consultation, collection and analysis of various sources, including academic articles in journals, master's dissertations, doctoral theses, books, laws and relevant publications on the topic. Given the research carried out, the study revealed a growing recognition of the hospital environment as a pedagogical space. It was also identified that the role of the pedagogue in this environment, together with the implementation of intentional activities, enables the continuity of schooling and contributes to the improvement of health status, by providing a break in the hospital routine through playful activities that favor physical and educational recovery of patients.
