O delineado borra, mas não apaga: invisi(a)bilidades e (r)existências das travestis na Comissão Nacional da Verdade

Abstract

Comissão Nacional da verdade (CNV), a federal government project created during the mandate of President Dilma Rousseff (2011- 2016), aimed to examine and unravel serious Human Rights violations committed between 1946 and 1988, being promulgated in 2011, by the Law 12,528/2011. In this sense, the present study aimed to analyze these documents, to identify whether transvestite bodies were properly represented and made visible in their final reports. Thus, the blurring of transvestite representation in CNV's official reports, considering how its approach to transvestite bodies was carried out during the dictatorial period was researched. To this end, it was investigated how CNV dealt with the Transvestites resistance during the Dictatorship, taking the “street” as locus and its adversities, composing an overview of this resistance and accessing the reports approach from a gender perspective, with an emphasis on the concepts of “body” and “abjection”, as formulated by Judith Butler. An exploratory and documentary research was carried out, accessing documents concerning the gender section on the Memórias Reveladas platform, a complete collection of results produced by the commission, and the final reports volume I, II and III, iconographies and adjacent documents were gathered, compiling the findings related to Transvestites term search. Furthermore, preferably transgender texts and productions of documents were investigated, as well, as historical accounts of surviving Transvestites and possible witnesses, with theoretical support from authors such as: Butler and Spivak. It was inferred there was an figures erasure that officially represented violence experienced by Transvestites in CNV´s documents, which resulted in the omission or non-collection of their experiences and testimonies, depersonalizing and underrepresenting them. It was found that there is a need to understand gender violence and heteronormative binary decoupling of the institutional and social perspective with the situations that affected and affect Transvestites to this day.
