Fanfics no ensino de inglês língua franca: um olhar sobre o Archive of Our Own

Abstract

With the improvement of internet, it is possible to see that the borders that divide the world are getting narrower and, thus, more people are connected to a virtual world. It is clear to see that this phenomenon is also happening inside schools and among students. This work has the goal of approaching the use of Archive of Our Own, a website which is centered on the writing of fanfics and the consumption of works related to fandoms, as a helping tool for learning the English language in the classroom as well as showing how the website works and its available options of use. In this work are used Brazilian’s official educational documents, such as ‘Lei de Diretrizes e Bases n°9394/96 and Base Nacional Comum Curricular (2017), texts of the multimodality theory of Sperandio (2015) and of digital genres, Meyer (2012), to highlight the necessity of digital literacy between students of our society and how the use of internet as a helping tool for learning of a foreign language can be positive.
