Abstract

Digital products play an important role in access to information and culture, offering opportunities for online interaction, democratization of knowledge and cultural appreciation. On the other hand, even though there is a growing movement by cultural institutions to make their digital collections available in open access format on the web, there is still a shortage of content of this nature. The general aim of this work was to propose a digital interface for accessing the contents of the musical production of Pernambuco's counterculture in the 1990s, Manguebeat. The movement mixed different regional and international references with musical lyrics that addressed social, political and economic issues, highlighting local resistance and identity. The methodology applied in the development of this project used Design Thinking references, going through immersion phases where surveys were carried out on the use of digital technology in Brazil, access to information, culture and the Manguebeat movement, as well as identifying and analyzing competitors. In the analysis and synthesis phase, tools were used to identify and characterize the target audience, in order to bring the product closer to potential users. Then, in the ideation phase, solutions were created according to the context of the problem and the best solution was identified. In the last phase, the selected idea was prototyped in low and high fidelity. With the conclusion of the aforementioned stages, the overall objective of the project was achieved through the construction of a digital interface entitled 'Manguetown' that presents the movement's discography and its characteristics.
