As dificuldades da aprendizagem dos alunos em equações do 2° grau com uma incógnita

Abstract

The present work has as objective to investigate the difficulties of the students in equations of 2nd grade with a unknown and 9th year of Elementary School. The research is qualitative in nature and, according to its objectives. It is characterized as an exploratory research. The data collection had the collaboration of 61 students of 9th grade of Elementary School and a teacher of Mathematics of a public school of the state education network. For data collection, the questionnaire was used as an instrument. The analysis of the difficulties of the students showed that the main difficulties presented by them are in the understanding of the statement of the questions, in the representation of the algebraic language, in the content domain of previous series. In relation to the analysis of the questionnaire of the teacher studied, it was evident that the difficulties lead and make possible for a self-assessment in the conduction of teaching and its methodology. Thus, the difficulties of the students provide and enable the teacher to understand the teaching-learning process can improve and re(structure) the way content is approached to reduce the difficulties of the students.
