Utilização de Inteligência Artificial no Auxílio à Tomada de Decisão na Arbitragem de Futebol

Abstract

With the aim of rendering football fairer and the work of officiating more practical and precise, a systematic literature review on the role of Artificial Intelligence in assisting refereeing decision-making was conducted. Following three screenings, out of the initial 686 articles published between 2022 and April 2024, 17 were categorized into three thematic areas (Employment of Technologies; Fault Identification; Alterations in Refereeing), with the majority focusing on statistical analysis and performance evaluation, as well as proposals for refereeing assistance. The addition of new technologies is suggested to enhance standardization of rulings and support for referees, thereby reducing tensions inherent in the sport without altering its essence.
