A importância da literatura infantil na formação de leitores

Abstract

This research defends the importance of children's literature, focusing on children in early childhood education. The main objective is to analyze various aspects of how children's literature contributes to the formation of a critical reader. In order to meet the proposed objective, bibliographical research was carried out and the work The True Story of the Three Little Pigs, written by Jon Scieszka and published in 1989, was analyzed. The structure of the work consists of the history of children's literature in Brazil; then literature for the formation of the reader and, finally, the analysis of the literary work. The research expresses the concern to talk to teachers in training and teachers about the importance of the theme and strengthening the reading of children's literature in schools. The work presents theorists who contribute to the research, some of whom are: Cândido (1995), Freire (2000), Margallo (2021) and Saviani (2024). The research concludes that children's literature is essential to the process of children's development in Early Childhood Education, but that it is necessary for teachers to be mediators and to analyze the book beforehand, before reading to the children, bearing in mind the importance of children's literature in the formation of the reader and the pleasure of reading.
