DOS ARROUBOS DO COLO MATERNO À CUMPLICIDADE PUSILÂNIME DO PAI: A FAMÍLIA E O ENCLAUSURAMENTO INDIVIDUAL N’A FUGA, DE LYGIA FAGUNDES TELLES

Abstract

Healthily in an (almost) unhealthy state, bordering on psychosis, the good enough mother identifies herself and, in an empathetic way, allows the baby to have, in her world, the illusion of having omnipotently created the primeval object, which appears when desired. : the breast. Fortunately capable of adapting, the good maternal environment, in the primitive stages, offers arms that, to the non-integrated offspring, are capable of joining together the fragmentary windows and, gradually, functioning as an auxiliary ego, set in motion two essential tasks: integration and customization. Between feedings, the baby, through an “aesthetic experience”, hears the hissing whispers and the handling that handles him and, without realizing it, crawls into a good enough lap. With staggering steps towards independence, the mother must, gradually, be able to make adaptations and provide less and less diligent care, allowing the child to deal with failures and, able to be alone, chart spontaneous and authentic routes. There are cases, however, in which maternal disorders, psychopathologically, impede the emotional growth of the child: this is the case of a mother – and, by extension, family – who, once forming a “monada” with the baby, is unable to wean. Trapped by the mother's skirts, the child, faced with psychopathological concerns, tries, through a false self, to respond to this maternal figure who has not recovered the “lucidity” of a life beyond himself and remains drunk on the liquors of motherhood. In the plots of the early days – which echo loudly in emotional development and adult life –, this work will investigate the short story “A fugi”, from the book A Estrutura da Bubble de Soap (1991), by Lygia Fagundes Telles, in the attempt to understand the family architecture, as we are sometimes faced with functions that drain, offering a frayed and tattered lap for the youngest, sometimes with maternal and paternal positions capable of, due to their parasitic omnipotence, creating a claustrophobic and asphyxiating dome. To this end, we use, as a theoreticalmethodological framework, the contributions of psychoanalytic science, with an emphasis on the studies of Donald Winnicott and his contemporary followers, namely: The child and his world (1964); The family and individual development (1965); The environment and maturation processes (1965); It all starts at home (1986); and Babies and Their Mothers (1987).
