Abstract

This Final Paper explores eroticism in the works of Clarice Lispector and examines the representation of the female body, highlighting Lispector's contributions to literature and philosophy. It also discusses the historical and cultural contexts of eroticism in world and Brazilian literature, emphasizing the complexity of female experiences. The objective is to analyze the intertextuality that emphasizes the historical context of female erotic experiences, and the specific ones are: to analyze erotic impulses in “Miss Algrave”; to discuss the representation of women in literature in repressive contexts; to explore the dichotomy between desire and reason in human nature The final paper justifies its analysis by highlighting social repression, the narrative complexity of the work, feminist criticism and the cultural significance of Lispector's literary contributions, which are intertwined with questions of identity and social roles. As well as exploring eroticism, the work reflects cultural anxieties related to female sexuality. With an approach categorized as qualitative research, the methodology is based on a critical-textual analysis of 'Miss Algrave', examining the narrative structure and erotic experiences and explores existential themes in the narrative. The work explores female sexuality in 'Miss Algrave', and highlights the conflict between desire and social norms, reflecting on female loneliness due to sexual repression and the intertextuality that connects erotic experiences to religious narratives, in which the work criticizes the objectification of women by highlighting fantasy elements that emphasize oppressed female autonomy.
