| Título: | ‘ABUELA WOULD SAY P'ALANTE!’: UMA ANÁLISE DO SPANGLISH E SUAS REFERÊNCIAS CULTURAIS NA DUBLAGEM BRASILEIRA DO MUSICAL IN THE HEIGHTS (2021) |

| Resumo: | O presente trabalho buscou analisar a dublagem brasileira do filme In the Heights (2021), focando em quais estratégias foram utilizadas para traduzir as referências culturais presentes na obra, em especial, diálogos que continham o Spanglish. Para compreender os conceitos utilizados análise, foram consultados os estudos de Albir (2011) e Agost (1999) acerca das escolhas envolvidas na dublagem; a classificação de referências culturais (RC) proposta por Igareda (2011); o estudo das técnicas de tradução para RC realizado por Amido (2014); e Parada (2011), que traz o histórico sócio-cultural do surgimento do spanglish, o fenômeno linguístico presente nos Estados Unidos da América, que consiste na mescla dos idiomas inglês e espanhol. Trata-se então, de uma pesquisa de caráter qualitativo, e por se tratar de uma análise de filme, um estudo documental, em que as RC identificadas foram classificadas entre as seis categorias temáticas propostas por Igareda (2011), e posteriormente sua respectiva escolha tradutória. Como resultado, constatou-se que a maioria das RC presentes foram mantidas na dublagem brasileira, realizada pelo estúdio Wan Marc. |
| Abstract: | This monograph aimed to analyze the Brazilian dubbing of the film In the Heights (2021), focusing on which techniques were used to translate the cultural references present, especially dialogues that contained Spanglish. To understand the concepts used in the analysis, studies of Albir (2011) and Agost (1999) were used to understand the choices involved in dubbing; the classification of cultural references (CR) proposed by Igareda (2011); the study of translation techniques for CR carried out by Amido (2014); and Parada (2011) which brings the sociocultural history of the emergence of spanglish, the linguistic phenomenon present in the United States of America, consisting of the mixture of two languages, english and spanish. It is qualitative research, and because it is a film analysis, a documentary study in which the identified RCs were classified among the 6 thematic categories proposed by Igareda (2011), and subsequently their respective translation choice. As a result, it was found that most of the CR present in the film were kept in the brazilian dubbing, by Wan Marc studio. |
