Mapeamento das legislacoes estaduais relacionadas a logistica reversa de medicamentos no Brasil

Abstract

The Decree No. 10,388/2020 establishes reverse logistics in Brazil but only covers municipalities with populations above one hundred thousand inhabitants, leaving most of the country’s 5,570 municipalities uncovered. This study maps the states with legislation related to the Reverse Logistics of Medications (RLM) and evaluates its influence on smaller municipalities. Among the 26 states and the Federal District, 14 have laws related to RLM, significantly expanding coverage compared to the federal decree alone. Analyzing the regional coverage, the study reveals disparities: while the Central-West region has complete coverage, the Southeast is the least covered region. The data indicate that the inclusion of state legislation expands coverage from 319 to 2,883 municipalities, highlighting the need for complementary policies to improve medication disposal management in Brazil.
