Abstract

This study aimed to investigate the relationship between the school environment and the development of children in kindergarten through the survey in Nursery Blessed Mother Mary, located in Limon-PE. In this research were made considerations about the school environment in the light of educational theories and legislation aimed at early childhood education, emphasizing the main features of the space in educational institutions; have also highlighted the views of participants in the study about the school; described himself as organizing the nursery, locus of research, reflecting on the influence of space for the development of autonomy, movement and sociability. The survey was conducted through observation of the field of study, photos and semi-structured interviews directed to the teachers of this early childhood institution. By analyzing the collected data, we confirmed that the nursery Mother Mary Beata, in relation to space, meets the specific needs of the child, is cozy, clean, clear, airy and wide, allowing the child to circulate around the classroom and play , enjoying it to develop fully. The various "corners" contribute to boost learning and make the child has the opportunity to further explore the environment, identifying the function of the spaces that are used in your routine. The classrooms are spacious and provide various ways for teachers to work at the same time allowing the child can move around the space of the classroom, exploring the environment and interacting with other children.
