Abstract

Tourism and other recreational leisure activities in rural areas have been growing and being highlighted in small properties that were previously forgotten and / or only remembered for their food production and / or animal husbandry.Today the rural area offers tourists the opportunity to live with the nature, culture and gastronomy of the region in which the enterprise is inserted.The objective of this work was to characterize the Rancho Nova Vida and its relations with the local community, in the social and environmental development, as well as its participation in the rural and gastronomic tourism activities of the city of Areia-PB, starting from the development of a descriptive research And bibliographical data presented in the form of a case study. The collected data were grouped in such a way that it was possible to present and describe the history and location of the company, its organizational structure, the characteristics of the gastronomy worked by the food service and the tourism potential of the analyzed enterprise, concluding to be the Rancho Nova Vida is an example of multifunctional rural property with great potential for rural tourism, generating job opportunities for the community, promoting local development.
