ARBORIZAÇÃO COMO RECURSO PEDAGÓGICO PARA EDUCAÇÃO AMBIENTAL: UM OLHAR PARA AÇÃO E PERCEPÇÃO DOS EDUCANDOS

Abstract

At the present juncture there is a growing migration of the inhabitants of the rural zone to the urban zone, in which the people of naturalized form, get involved in the urbanized environment, thus leaving, a little aside the natural environment. For this reason, the main objective of this study was to promote the reflection of the human behaviors that contribute or not, in the socioenvironmental aspects. For this, an afforestation intervention was used as a pedagogical resource with the purpose of promoting Environmental Education. The research was carried out in a Public State School located in the city of Alagoa Nova - PB, having subjects of the 1st year of High School, characterized as a qualitative research and from the point of view of the procedures as descriptive and exploratory, and can be characterized as field research. The research was divided in four stages, through a questionnaire of environmental perception, a lecture about the environment, the process of afforestation and the realization of the focal group. The results obtained were the knowledge of what the learners understand by environment and socio-environmental issues, the afforestation of an area lacking basic rights and the achievement of a response to the environmental stimulus caused by the project. The intervention about Environmental Education was significant because the participating students were enthusiastic and satisfied with the activity, through praxis they were able to elaborate concepts and reflect on their role as transforming agent of the environment in which they live.
