Abstract: | Brazil is the largest producer of citrus and Paraiba is the second ranking in northeastern production of tangerine. The perennial character of the citrus crop puts fundamental importance in the choice of change, which is planted and cared for 6-8 years before revealing their maximum potential yield and fruit quality. The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of three organic substrates on vegetative rootstock 'SxC Tropical' (Citrus sunki Hort. Former Tan.). The work was conducted in the greenhouse Lab Fruit of the Center for Agricultural Sciences (CCA) belonging è Federal University of Paraíba (UFPB). The rootstock used was tangerine 'SxC Tropical' which is seeded first in conical plastic tubes of 50 cm3 later when they reached 15-17 cm were transplanted into bags with a volume of 7 liters, getting these for 150 days. The trial was arranged in DIC, where the treatments themselves were growing substrates, substrate composition was dirty 1 (S1) - 80% organic compost + 20% vermiculite substrate 2 (S2) - 80% organic compost + 20 % of rice hulls; Substrate 3 (S3) - 80% organic compost + 20% sand, and three replicates, each plot consisted of 15 plants. We evaluated the results for length and stem diameter (DC, DC), length and diameter of the main root (CRP, DRP), leaf number (N ° F), leaf area (LA), dry matter (FS), reason leaf area ratio (LAR), leaf weight ratio (PPR), specific leaf area (SLA), specific leaf weight (PEF), absolute growth rate (AGR), relative growth rate (RGR), root / shoot ratio shoot (R / PA), net assimilation rate (NAR). Plants grown on the substrate 3 showed higher CC, DC, CRP, DRP, N ° F, AF, FS, PEF, TCA, RGR and NAR. The substrate 2 induced higher values of RAF, RPF, PAR and AFE. The substrate 3 provided 100% of plants suitable for grafting. Plants grown in substrates 1 and 2 did not reach the stem diameter for grafting |
