Abstract: | The present research aimed at understand and evaluate how is developing the process of the school inclusion regarding to service the special needs of students with Physical Disabilities (PD), in the Center of Agricultural Science of UFPB, in Areia City, in the state of Paraíba. The choice of the University occurred because it is the only higher education institution in the city and currently has two students with PD enrolled regularly. This study aimed at identifies and understand the advances and challenges faced by the students with PD for conclude their studies and for coordinator, departmental heads and teachers attend the special needs of students with PD, as well as the necessary adaptations performed by the University to offer an adequate accessibility for the students with PD. It was adopted a qualitative and descriptive method with emphasis on field research, that was applied a semi-structures questionnaires for two students with PD, one course coordinator, two department heads, and seven teachers of graduation and graduate that attend the students with PD. Also were photographed the physical space of the campus frequented by the students with PD. The data was categorized according Bogdan and Bikle (1994) and analyzed the light of the theoretical fundamentals and legal documents. From the results obtained it was verified that the participants have knowledge about this thematic, at the same time that they recognize the importance and that they accept in a positive way the inclusion of students with disabilities in Higher School. Most of the professionals feel unprepared to act more effectively in this process because they have no formation in this area. The Campus does not offer adequate accessibility for those students with PD to they be able to realize with autonomy their activities. The inclusion process is long and requires commitment from everyone that makes up the school environment, to offer a good qualities education and ensure accessibilities, thus respecting the differences |
