Ações educacionais do Núcleo de Cidadania e Direitos Humanos da UFPB (2007-2015): construindo uma cultura de paz

Abstract

The present work presents a reflection on the educational actions developed by the Center for Citizenship and Human Rights of the UFPB (2007-2015), considering its paths and its educational practices in the scope of teaching, research and extension in the perspective of the construction of a culture of peace . The human rights educational institutions have undeniable relevance to the community where they are inserted, observing their educational action for the realization of rights and against violations, as is the case of the NCDH. It is a qualitative research that provided a hybrid dialogue between documentary and bibliographic sources, focusing on the educational actions of the Nucleus. The methodology enabled a dialogue between these sources, promoting a reflexive discussion about the educational practices developed, as well as allowing interfaces between history and human rights. The dialogues with the studies of Le Goff (2003), Hobsbawn (1995), Magalhães (2004), Carvalho (2009), among others, and with documents such as the National Human Rights Program 3 - PNDH-3 and the National Human Rights Education Plan. Legal documents were also found, such as resolutions to create and organize the NCDH, activity reports, academic productions, research projects, study groups, and iconographic sources. Through this knowledge, we verified the contributions of the Citizenship and Human Rights Nucleus of the UFPB to the academic community and society, because through its activities it facilitates the dissemination of human rights education, constituting an important instrument of mediation for the transformation of the relations between the human beings, and of these with the world, in order to subsidize processes of affirmation as subjects in coexistence with the other.
