Um estudo sobre as principais dificuldades do ensino de geometria no ambiente escolar da Escola Estadual de Ensino Fundamental e Médio Professor Luiz Aprígio

Abstract

This research aimed to discuss the theme about a study of the main difficulties of teaching Geometry at school, State Elementary School and Middle Teacher Luiz Aprígio in the municipality of Mamanguape - Paraíba, in an attempt to identify the main difficulties of students in the discipline of Geometry. This theme was based on surveys of leading theorists and researchers, as Lorenzato (1995), Nascimento (2009), Rego (2009), Costa (2010), Pavalleno (1993), among others, the National Curricular Parameters (BRAZIL,1998) and Evaluation System of Basic Education (SAEB). The survey was conducted with 62 students from two classes of 9th grade regular education in a public school in the city of Mamanguape - PB. The research methodology is characterized by having a theoretical approach based on descriptive study, the method is applied to the work of investigative character and a case study regarding the acquisition and analysis of data. To adopt this as the primary instrument of research a semi-structured questionnaire applied to the students of the school investigated. The study was conducted during the month of December 2013. How have results - that the profile of students in the final years of education was composed of students over 15 years; female. As for the geometrical knowledge have found that a low leveling mathematical and geometrical knowledge, a fact that may even hinder their development in high school, both in the area of Mathematics and especially Geometry.
