Bullying e cotidiano escolar: um estudo de caso.

Abstract

This paper analyzes the phenomenon of bullying in the school environment from a case study in a public school in the city of Santa Rita-PB. The research revealed the permanence of bullying practices as a mechanism of social control during the socialization process. Reports of student experiences were collected to identify recurrent bullying practices and, from this, to understand how the school deals with the problem and builds coping actions. Interviews were also conducted with the pedagogical coordinator and the teacher of the Project of Life discipline, as well as two conversation wheels with students in the 1st and 2nd year of High School. In an attempt to understand how bullying practices develop in school every day, we realize that exclusion and stigmatization are frequent practices and that the school does not have an effective action in coping with the phenomenon by operating with forms that naturalize the problem.
