A educação financeira no contexto dos anos iniciais do ensino fundamental

Abstract

The present work is focused on the Financial Education theme, which is a topic to be addressed in schools that has gained much evidence in recent years. We understand that financial education is the process by which individuals in societies improve their understanding of financial concepts and products, so that, with information, training and guidance, they can develop the values and skills to become more aware of opportunities , knowing how to make choices that improve your well-being. The general objective here is to analyze the importance of financial education in the early years of elementary school, aiming to contribute to the formation of a citizen consciousness. The specific objectives were to identify financial education projects aimed at the school context in the early years of elementary school; investigate whether schools have developed pedagogical projects and or practices with a focus on financial education in this segment and evaluate the level of involvement of elementary school teachers in the early years, as well as managers and coordinators, with the theme of financial education at school. We take a qualitative research approach, collecting data in three elementary schools in the municipal network of João Pessoa. The data were analyzed in two parts: in the first, with the profile of the respondents and in the second, the verification of the subjects' understanding of financial education, training processes and their effectiveness in school, in the context of the initial years of Elementary School. The conclusions give us to understand that the participants have an understanding of the theme, although many do not link it to the curriculum in the classroom, which indicates the need for continuing education with this theme given the need for insertion in the early years of elementary school .
