Uma análise sociointeracionista do gênero memorando: uso, função e regularidade

Abstract

This piece of research is based on the most recent studies about language, following the social interactionist perspective of Bakhtin (1979) and Jean Paul Bronckart (1999). According to the second author, language activity and language action are fundamental to the epistemological frame of socio-discursive interactionism (SDI). The theoretical framework of our study is based on the SDI proposal according to which language activities play an essential role in human actions. Thus, the language activities and productions that occur in a particular social construction lead to awareness, learning, and therefore to human development (Machado, 2000). Considering the texts found in the memos that circulate within the Federal University of Paraíba (UFPB), in this documental and interpretative research, we have examined this textual genre, which circulate among the Departments, Centres and Main Administration Building of UFPB. Our aim was to observe the presence of subjectivity in the texts in order to understand, as proposed by Bronckart’s textual layering (Bronckart, 1999), positions and voices in the texts, focusing mainly on the enunciation mechanisms. The conclusion of our analysis was that the presence of linguistic elements in this official correspondence genre presents significant marks of subjectivity, even though the nullification of these subjectivity signs, which belong to the discursive sphere where the memorandum circulates, is appreciated.
