A importância da biblioteca escolar na formação do leitor em nível fundamental

Abstract

This paper aims to analyze the importance of the school library in the education of readers in elementary education, with the main focus being a small private school in the city of João Pessoa / PB, in which the library is being implemented, aiming at encouraging reading of their students, through various reading projects. Theoretical basis was sought to understand the related aspects about the library and the librarian in the formation of the reader and the laws that govern school libraries and the parameters used. It is a descriptive research, with characteristics of a case study, in which bibliographic research was carried out, a questionnaire was applied to the teachers, the coordination and direction of the school, and an interview with the principal. The results indicated demonstrate the role of the library and the school librarian in the formation of the reader, describe the library to be implemented in the private school, characterize the teaching and teaching staff of the school in terms of its profile and, finally, exposes the relevance of the school library in the education of the reader in elementary school in the perception of the teaching and teaching staff of the school, revealing through the studied school routine the importance of the school library in the formation of readers in elementary school.
