Layout da Biblioteca Setorial do CCEN/UFPB: Funcionalidade e visibilidade ao acesso da informação

Abstract

In this work, a proposal was made for a system of internal signaling of environments and standardized collection for the Sectoral Library of the CCEN / UFPB, a topic that will certainly bring practical contributions from an organizational perspective, as it seeks to enable users of the library a signalized environment that can guarantee better access to the collection, autonomy of locomotion and search of informational material. In order to meet this proposal, the main objective was to carry out a diagnosis of the BS-CCEN / UFPB, with a view to improving the layout of the library, in relation to the signaling of environments, as well as to meet the needs of access to the collection. To accomplish this, the following specific objectives were defined: Mapping the sectors and areas of knowledge of the library's collection; identify strengths and vulnerabilities in relation to access to the acquis; to elaborate a proposal of layout of the library, by means of internal signage, with emphasis in the areas of knowledge of the collection. The adopted methodology had a qualitative approach, of a descriptive and bibliographic nature, having as method a case study; using as research techniques: observation, diagnosis and semi-structured interview. The results demonstrated the need to create a standardized signaling system for both the collection and the other library environments. It was concluded that the signage of the library is fundamental to offer an environment of free access, favoring security and autonomy to the users.
