“ECOS DE VIDA-LIBERDADE”: SILÊNCIOS, RUÍDOS E DENÚNCIAS NA POÉTICA DE CONCEIÇÃO EVARISTO

Abstract

If we look carefully, we will see that the erasure of black characters in the Brazilian literary scene is noticeable. Historically, canonical literature remains immobilized, being a territory dominated by white men who end up supporting the dominant, Caucasian and Eurocentric logic, which thematizes blacks from the point of view of whiteness, often reaffirming racial prejudices and social stigmas. In this context, in the present work, I propose to analyze the "echoes of life-freedom" reverberated in Conceição Evaristo's poetics, which define the belonging and authorship of the black female being, invested with her own identity. They are echoes that reverberate individual and collective experiences of black women, through a striking language, seeking to break with the imposed place of “object”, becoming the owners of their own stories. To carry out this study, focusing on Brazilian black female writing, I will analyze the poems "Vozes-mulheres" and "Meia lágrima", extracted from the work Poemas da remembrance and other movements (2021) by Conceição Evaristo. To support the analyses, we will use as a theoretical reference: authors who address the theme of Literature, Literary Theory, Afro-Brazilian Literature, female authorship, black identity, black poetry. Such as:Paulo Freire (1987), Bernd (1992), Antonio Candido ( 1995); Terry Eagleton (2003); Tzvetan Todorov (2003); Proença (2004); Konder (2005); Pound (2006): Evaristo (2005; 2007; 2011; 2021); Duarte (2007); Fonseca (2007); Sousa (2010), Cuti (2010); Sousa (2010); Fanon (2011); Rufatto (2012); Santos (2013); Souza (2015); Ferreira (2021) among others.
