O atendimento educacional especializado aos alunos com deficiência em tempos de pandemia

Abstract

This paper focuses on the Specialized Educational Service - AEE in times of pandemic, specifically, of Covid-19. Thus, it is proposed to record the experience of teachers and teachers, students, in the face of the pandemic context that hit the world in 2020. In this sense, the aim of the study is to understand how the AEE was provided to students with disabilities during the pandemic. Regarding the methodological choices, the research is configured as a field research, as a data collection tool we chose the interview, conducted with two teachers who work in the AEE in public institutions, located in the city of João Pessoa-PB. The first interviewee works as a teacher in a Municipal Center for Early Childhood Education (CMEI) and the second as a teacher in a school, in the Elementary School stage (Early Years). The results of the research showed that the pandemic brought changes in everyone's lives, especially in what concerns education, and that it was necessary to develop new strategies, since they now had to use resources that were not part of their daily lives, such as cameras, computer screens, remote classes, etc. As a result, teachers and families of the students who are the target audience of Special Education - PAEE, had to get involved in this process and seek new ways to collaborate with the children's development. Aware that the effects of the pandemic are still very evident, especially in education, with this research we hope to contribute to new studies in the area, because we understand that it is necessary to continue investigating the effects of the pandemic in schooling, especially for students with disabilities, which is the subject of this study.
