Desigualdades entre os membros das inequações : um estudo com o material manipulável balança de dois pratos

Abstract

The present work had as objective to investigate the potentialities and limitations of the use of the manipulable material two-pan balance for the study of Algebra in the inequalities between the members of the 1st degree inequalities, in order to build the mathematical knowledge, the inequality between the members of inequalities in students and lead them to learning in a playful way. The elaboration of the concepts presented and the activity developed through the manipulative material were based on the theoretical framework of Rêgo and Rêgo, Lorenzato, Usiskin, among other authors. The manipulable material, a two-pan scale, was applied to students of the 7th year of the final years of Elementary School developed in a private school located in the municipality of Mamanguape - PB. The methodology used in relation to the objectives was descriptive and regarding the technical procedures, a case study was used. It was observed that in the first moment most of the students had difficulties in the mathematics discipline, mainly in the algebraic content, focusing in this research on the inequalities between the members of the inequalities, however, after the application of the manipulative material, an active and active interaction took place. a playful class, providing a meaningful learning for the students. The work provided an improvement in the understanding of inequality concepts and we can observe the potentialities and limitations of the two-pan balance for learning the inequalities between the members of the inequalities.
