Abstract

The present monograph has as its theme “Playfulness in the Teaching-Learning Process of Children in Early Childhood Education.” the study of playfulness in the teaching-learning process in Early Childhood Education is essential because it recognizes that children learn better when engaged in playful activities. Playfulness stimulates creativity, imagination, socialization, and the cognitive, emotional, and motor development of children. The overall objective of this monographic work was to investigate the contributions of playfulness in the construction of the teaching-learning process for children in Early Childhood Education. The specific objectives were to analyze the importance of playfulness in children´s learning in Early Childhood Education, identify how pedagogical work with playfulness is proposed in official documents related to Early Childhood Education, and develop and propose activities involving playfulness for children in Early Childhood Education. The methodology involved a bibliographic survey on the topic, aiming to build a theoretical foundation based on authors such as Kishimoto (1996 and 2010), Luckesi (2005), Dias (2013), among others. The results, based on the reflections made, demonstrate that didactic work using playfulness in Early Childhood Education, when well-planned, positively contributes to the teaching- learning process for children.
