Gesticulação e holófrases infantis: aspectos multimodais da linguagem

Abstract

This paper presents a discussion between the gestures and holófrases children in the process of language acquisitional. The gesture is characterized as the gestures that accompany the flow of speech, involving arms, head movements, body posture and legs, bear marks of the speech community and marks the individual style of each individual. As a theoretical basis for this work from the premise that gesture and speech form a team that can not be divorced, separated. This perspective is based on the functioning of the multimodal language (McNeill, 1985). This assumption suggests that gesture and speech are aggregated to the same array of production and signification, ie, constitute a single linguistic system. According to Scarpa (2009), the term refers to the first listed holófrase the entry of children in their mother tongue. Kendon (1982) states in his keep, but known as the "Continuum Kendon," which is the interface between gesture and speech that the meaning is achieved. Therefore, we sought to understand the relationship between the emergence of gestures and holófrases to the process of language acquisition. For this paper we analyze four mother-infant dyads 0-36 months of a child's life, recorded in a naturalistic situation at the home of the dyads.
