Evolução das organizações criminosas na Paraíba

Abstract

This study investigates the evolution and expansion of criminal organizations in Paraíba, focusing on the Okaida, Estados Unidos, and Comando Vermelho factions. The research addresses the territorial dispute between the factions, their social impacts, and the role of the State in this reality. The study also examines the function of the prison system in the dynamics of these organizations and the new operational methods used, including money laundering and influence in the political scenario. For the construction of the analysis, a qualitative approach was used, based on academic sources, official data, and media records, including journalistic news and social media posts. The research reveals the growing sophistication of criminal factions and their insertion into different spheres of society, highlighting the need for effective public policies to contain their expansion.
