Estágio supervisionado em literatura e sagrado: uma experiência na biblioteca Juarez da Gama Batista

Abstract

The aim of this article is to present the experiences we, students of the Bachelor's degree in Religious Studies at the Federal University of Paraíba, had during the Supervised Internship I, carried out at the Juarez da Gama Batista Library, located within the Cultural Space Foundation of Paraíba - FUNESC. Through the internship, we sought to enhance technical skills and broaden the theoretical knowledge acquired during our academic training. The methodology used to address the issues found in the library involved a thorough analysis of the collection, identifying the main demands of the users, and applying efficient organization methods. The results were obtained through the development of projects, such as the implementation of a standardized cataloging system and the organization of the sacred literature collection. The internship provided the interns with the opportunity to experience, in practice, the work of a religious studies scholar, aiming to contribute to professional development and the formation of a broad and critical view of the role of the library in society.
