A literatura de cordel na educação para o trânsito : uma abordagem literária para a formação cidadã.

Abstract

This study investigates the power of Cordel Literature as a pedagogical mediation device in traffic education, aiming to overcome the punitive paradigm in favor of a civic-oriented road culture aligned with the UN Decade of Action (2021-2030). The theoretical framework articulates Paulo Freire's critical pedagogy with the sociology of road inequalities by Pereira et al. (2021; 2024), grounding the need for the cultural contextualization of norms. Methodologically, it employs Discursive Textual Analysis (DTA) with a hermeneutic approach applied to a documentary corpus (CTB, PNATRANS, and academic texts). The results and discussion reveal a communicational hiatus between the technical coldness of legislation and social praxis, evidencing that cordel effectively operates in translating complex concepts ("Vision Zero") into an affective and mnemonic language. The research implications culminate in the theoretical validation of a didactic cordel — originating from a project awarded by Denatran — which here assumes the function of an analytical metatext, bridging the gap between formal and non-formal education. The originality of this work lies in the academic legitimation of this popular genre as a sophisticated social technology, capable of transmuting mere bureaucratic obedience into an ethical and solidary commitment to the preservation of life.
