DESMISTIFICANDO VISÕES SOBRE A CIÊNCIA E CIENTISTAS COM ALUNOS DO ENSINO FUNDAMENTAL DE UMA ESCOLA PÚBLICA

Abstract

Nowadays science has assumed a very important role due to the advances made that contribute to the improvement and well being of humanity. The present work aimed to know the visions of students of the 8th year on Science and Scientists. The research was exploratory with a qualitative-quantitative approach carried out in three stages: 1-Application of the Pre-test questionnaire (prior knowledge of the students); 2-Class of intervention and application of didactic game; 3- Application of the Post-Test questionnaire. The responses were analyzed and quantified according to the frequency in which they were cited. Before the results it was observed that before the intervention, the students demonstrated a stereotyped vision about Science and scientists, which was verified when asked about the place where one can learn science. Before the intervention, the most mentioned place was the school, and in the Post-questionnaire the students understood that one can learn anywhere. When students were asked to cite the characteristics that a scientist must have, the characteristic intelligence was the one that stood out the most and as to their importance, the students attributed the discovery of things. In the Post-questionnaire, they pointed out that a scientist should be dedicated and curious about the importance of researching the understanding of nature in all dimensions. Therefore, we observed that after the intervention, students were able to reconstruct and broaden their view on scientist, since such resources contributed significantly, as there was a demystification of the image students had about scientists.
