A importância dos contos maravilhosos de Andersen para a imaginação da criança

Abstract

Children's literature is often used at schools by teachers with the aim of transmitting moral teachings or virtues to children. But there are many more benefits related to reading this production, especially related to the development of imagination and the taste for reading. Recognizing this important contribution, this work has as general objective to understand the importance of the wonderful tale for the formation of children's imagination. This is a bibliographical research in literature books by classical author Hans Christian Andersen, where the short stories "The shepherdess and the brush of chimneys" and "The red shoes" were analyzed, both written in 1945. The analysis was made according to Propp (1984), to proceed to the recognition of the possible functions of the characters present in the plots of the short stories, and Vigotsky (2009 apud RIBEIRO, 2018), to understand how the development of the human imagination takes place. With this study it was possible to recognize the importance of fairy tales, specifically those authored by Andersen for the development of children, especially as a tool for the development of imagination. Considering, therefore, it is of fundamental importance to promote the contact of the child with children's literature.
