Conselho escolar como instrumento democrático

Abstract

The School Board is an important instrument of democratic and participative management in a school, and can contribute to the decision making process, since it can assume deliberative, consultative, fiscal and mobilizing powers. The purpose of this study was to understand the participation of the Council in school management, as well as to verify the role played by this council in the construction of democratic school management by investigating how the School Council is organized in the public school researched and identify the performance of the same in such a school when analyzing their role and contribution to the investigated school. Methodologically, a qualitative exploratory research of the Case Study type was developed, using the Documentary Analysis, having as main sources of analysis the Political Pedagogical Project of said school, minutes of the meetings of School Council and the Internal Regulation of the same, as well as a questionnaire applied between the members of the Board with dissertation questions in order to allow a parallel between the official documents and the data obtained during the research. The present work is organized in its 1st chapter deals with education and its objectives from the perspective of Brazilian legislation and what is democratic management. In the second chapter, he discusses the instruments of democratic management, such as the School Council and the Pedagogical Political Project (PPP), what are their attributions and contributions to democratic management. Later we present the data obtained through our research, which we dialogue with the referential thinkers of our search.
