O estágio extracurricular em Pedagogia: entre a precarização do trabalho e os objetivos pedagógicos da Lei 11.788/2008

Abstract

The extracurricular internship is a non-compulsory internship modality in teacher training courses and its importance has been widely discussed, however, there are few studies that encompass the exploitation of cheap labor that involve extracurricular internships in Pedagogy. In this sense, based on the discussions and experiences lived by the researcher, the present study proposes to reflect on the working conditions of interns of the Pedagogy Course in private schools, verify the scope of the pedagogical objectives listed by Law 11.788/2008, identify the level of satisfaction of these students regarding the choice for the Pedagogy Course and to discuss about the knowledge that the students of the said course have regarding their rights as interns, seeking their contradictions. In order to reach this objective, a qualitative and bibliographical research, of the exploratory type, was carried out. 10 (ten) students of the UFPB Pedagogy Course, from the three shifts, from the 3rd period of the mentioned Course were invited to participate in the research on a voluntary basis. To collect information, semi-structured interviews were carried out. The results obtained point out that the students understand the situation of cheap labor in which they are inserted, when they report that they fulfill the same responsibilities and attributions of a formal employee, without receiving, however, the same labor rights due to their intern status. These same students, for the most part, do not have knowledge about the Internship Law 11.788/2008 and, while identifying that they receive little in the schools where they interned, financially speaking, they consider the experience of interning in private schools to be relevant, these extracurricular experiences being important for their formative process. In view of this, it is necessary to look back at the laws protecting interns and encouraging public policies that will monitor actual compliance with these laws, so that interns, not only in Pedagogy, but in the broad sense, have their rights guaranteed and fulfilled by law in practice.
