Abstract

This paper discusses, at the theoretical level, the importance and contribution of early childhood education to the process of literacy of the child. It has as a research problem in the bibliographic plan, the following question: what is the role of early childhood education in the process of children's literacy? As a general objective, it seeks to analyze the role of early childhood education in the process of children's literacy. As specific objectives, it tries to contextualize, from the historical point of view, childhood and early childhood education; discuss the role of early childhood education in the formation of children; to point out the importance of play in the formation of the child; establish the relationships between literacy and literacy in early childhood education; to point out the role of early childhood education in child literacy. In methodological terms, it is defined as a research of a qualitative nature, of a bibliographic and documentary nature, which sought to make a survey of readings that highlight the role and contribution of early childhood education.
