A Psicolinguística no ensino de línguas

Abstract

This article proposes to discuss Psycholinguistics based on Wouk (1975), Pereira (2010) and Maia (2018) among others, in addition to exploring its entire development, especially with regard to the second language. As a general objective, this research aims to discuss how Psycholinguistics has been an important area of study, mainly for the acquisition and teaching/learning of foreign languages. As specific objectives, the research intends to reflect on the assumptions of Psycholinguistics regarding the mother tongue and discuss the psycholinguistic aspects involved in the context of language teaching and learning. The study has bibliographic character, qualitative approach and explanatory nature. The main result of this work is the fact that Psycholinguistics has been acting for a long time as a strong contributor to the field of language acquisition and teaching and learning, especially with regard to the school context. One of the conclusions obtained during the research is that discussions in the area of Psycholinguistics can contribute to the learning process not only of other languages, but also of the mother tongue, since its methods must be in tune with the cognitive reality, of interest , abilities and competences of the student.
