Manancial e bebedouro, latrina e esgoto: uma análise jurídica da degradação ambiental no rio Tibiri/preto no município de Santa Rita/PB

Abstract

The work consists of bibliographical research on the water subbasin of the Tibiri River. Through an analysis of its history and the environmental problems suffered due to anthropic pressure, and analysis of the legislative proposals that establish the guidelines for the performance of public power in relation to environmental degradation, especially water and sanitation issues. Concluding that the State has been failing to comply with the established guidelines, not even planning recovery and preservation actions, or even municipal sanitation. Presenting a possible initial action of the executive branch, the creation of an environmental education program aimed at the riverside populations. It was also recommended the creation of a sub basin committee that could establish guidelines for the preservation and recovery of the tributary, in view of the omission of those responsible for this. Finally, it was suggested the definition of a Conservation Unit at the source of the river, with the objective of maintaining the flow rate and the necessary potability to continue serving the main water resource of the city.
